The National Centre of Experimental Mineralogy and Petrology (NCEMP) was established in 1996 for the advancement of high-pressure-temperature research in India. All the equipments at this centre have been essentially financed by the Department of Science and Technology and a few by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. It also receives financial support through collaborative research studies from various Institutions. During the last five years this centre has become a leading centre of research in India pertaining to the understanding of Lithospheric processes. The centre is located 5 km north of the Allahabad railway station having a lovely campus full of greeneries. There are different types of laboratories with a well-equipped workshop, internet and other technical facilities. This centre is one of the thirty high-pressure high-temperature laboratories in the world.

National Workshop on Material Synthesis, HP-HT technique and use of Electron Microscopy, during February 16 - 22, 2016, will be organized by, NCEMP, University of Allahabad
